Who can sell
Claritas Art is for artists selling their own original work. Every application is reviewed for quality, originality and a consistent body of work before approval.
- You must be the creator of every work you list, or its authorised representative
- Works must be your own. No copies of other artists’ work, and no AI-generated images presented as hand-made
- You must be at least 18 years old
Listing standards
- Clear, well-lit photos with true colours, including one straight-on photo of the full work
- Accurate title, medium, dimensions (with and without frame), year and condition
- State clearly whether a work is an original, a limited edition (with edition size) or a print
- Set a fair, final price that includes the work itself; shipping is calculated separately
Packaging & shipping
Dispatch sold works within 7 business days unless a longer time is stated on the listing.
- Wrap canvases in acid-free paper and protective film, with corner guards
- Ship works on paper flat between rigid boards, or rolled in a strong tube
- Use reinforced boxes or crates for framed and fragile works
- Always ship tracked and insured for the full sale price, and add the tracking number to the order
Authenticity
We recommend including a signed certificate of authenticity with every original. Sign your work, and keep records of your editions.
Professional conduct
- Respond to collector questions and orders promptly and courteously
- Complete all sales through Claritas Art. Taking payments off-platform isn’t permitted
- Respect the intellectual property of others
Membership
You can start selling on Claritas Art with the Free Artist plan: up to 10 active artworks, a professional artist profile and no paid membership required. Paid plans (Artist Basic, Artist Pro and Artist Premium, billed monthly or annually) allow up to 25, 60 or 150 active artworks and add visibility, analytics and eligibility for promotional placements.
All artwork publication remains subject to Claritas Art curator approval. Promotional placements such as Featured Art, Featured Artist, homepage exposure, Magazine features and curated collections are subject to Claritas Art’s curatorial selection and are not guaranteed. Claritas Art charges a 30% commission only when an artwork is sold; membership fees and sales commission are separate. See all artist plans.
Reviews & enforcement
We may edit, hide or remove listings that don’t meet these guidelines, and suspend accounts after repeated or serious breaches. If that happens, we’ll always explain why.
